Globally we buy 80 billion new items of clothing each year, but as we’re also trying to stick to the latest trends of fast fashion, a lot of it ends up in the back of our wardrobes and 350,000 tonnes of used clothing goes to landfill in the UK every year.
Making conscious choices, buying less, and buying items that will last longerĀ could make a huge difference. This probably means you might need to plan your purchases a bit more and perhaps choose more classic items rather than always going for ‘the latest trend’ (that may go out of fashion quickly). Finding your way of being more sustainable is also important to make sure shopping is still fun and that your clothes still make you feel stylish / hot / comfortable / powerful / happy / trendy / cute / on point.
